Man wanted in New Britain shooting caught in N.Y.
NEW BRITAIN – A Meriden man wanted in a double shooting in New Britain in October was captured by New York authorities over the weekend after he allegedly staged an armed robbery there, police said.
Robert Williams, also known as Robert Watson, 24, is accused of shooting two Bridgeport men after a hip-hop show at Club Venue on Broad Street on Oct. 22. The men have since recovered.
New Britain police have been holding a warrant for his arrest for months. Williams posted comments on his Facebook page that police inquiries into the shooting have left him in the doghouse with his fiance. He disappeared in November after being questioned by police.
His mother, Patty Carrion, is being held on bond while facing attempted murder charges in connection with a 1995 shooting in Meriden. She had been on the lam for nearly 15 years before she was taken into custody.

Police had been looking for Armando Bermejo, 24, with a last known address of 60 Lyons St. since early October. He was caught by Norwalk police Thursday and turned over to New Britain police who were holding a warrant for attempted murder.
Bermejo is accused of seriously wounding a 19-year-old in a burst of gunfire that erupted in the quiet neighborhood on a Sunday afternoon as residents were watching football. The victim is still recovering from his injuries.
Police believe a shooting in January that wounded a man on Oak Street may have been in retaliation for the Kelsey Street shooting. Two brothers were arrested in that case and investigators are still looking for a third brother believed to be involved in the Oak Street shooting.
Police had put out continuous alerts asking other departments to be on the look out for Bermejo, Lt. James Wardwell said. "Norwalk police received information on where he was and took him into custody," he said.
Bermejo was charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm and criminal possession of a pistol. He is being held on $1.5 million bond until his arraignment in New Britain Superior Court today.
